PUBG Mobile 4.0 Update

PUBG Mobile 4.0 – A Spectral Celebration of Battle Royale

Release Date & Overview

Global rollout of PUBG Mobile 4.0 (Spooky Soirée) officially began on September 4, 2025, with some regions possibly getting early access on September 3.

This update transforms classic battle royale with supernatural elements, visually rich content, and creative gameplay.

Spooky Soirée Mode & New Locations

Spooky Soirée Mode, the heart of 4.0, injects Halloween magic into Erangel, Livik, and Rondo.

Enter the Wraithmoor Mansion (aka Magic Mirror Castle), a multi-level haunted hotspot teeming with traps, hidden chambers, and high-tier loot like King’s Crates, Phantom Treasure, and puzzle mechanics.

Other themed areas include the Rock Revue Graveyard, where ghostly concerts reward attentive players, and a Beach Carnival in Lipovka with rides like a Ferris wheel offering tactical advantage.

Meet Ghosty & Prankster Ghosts

Ghosty—your spectral companion—grants evolving abilities:

Main skills: healing (even while shooting), shields (3,000 HP energy barriers), floating balloon for flight.

Secondary skills: speed boosts, enemy scans, armor regeneration, auto-revive, and more.

If eliminated, you become a Prankster Ghost, staying in the match to assist teammates by deploying shields, scanning enemies, or triggering chaos with explosive “prank bombs.”

New Weapon: Mortar

Introducing the Mortar—a portable artillery piece with two attack modes:

1. Direct fire at visible targets.
2. Indirect fire via marking areas on the map for delayed bombardment.

This versatile tool adds strategic bombardment options, ideal for flushing enemies or securing high-ground dominance.

Flying into Battle – Magic Broom & Other Features

The Magic Broom is a stylish two-seater flying vehicle, letting players traverse maps quickly, attack from above, or make epic escapes—though boosting too hard risks knocking off passengers!

Visual & audio upgrades include realistic reload animations (e.g., empty-chamber pistols), refined foregrip and stock customization, improved lighting, and atmospheric effects—like new dusk weather—across maps.

New Game Modes & Creativity Tools

Predator vs Survivors—an asymmetric PvP mode (releasing around September 26) pits one empowered Predator against four Survivors. Predators wield special powers; survivors must activate terminals and escape.

World of Wonder (WoW) 1.0 debuts as the full creative suite:

Tools like Smart Assistant (multilingual aid for creators), visual scripting for PvE enemies, skill editors, and customizable modes like Train Escort or jumping challenges.

A WoW Pass and Gift System reward engaging creators, letting players support favorite maps and earn cosmetics or real-world incentives.

Additional Content & Collaborations

Royale Pass A15 – “Trick or Treat” brings exclusive Halloween-themed cosmetics, challenges, and rewards.

Crossovers include Kaiju No. 8 (transform into powerful monsters with themed gear) and rumored G-Dragon collabs with exclusive cosmetics.

Final Thoughts

PUBG Mobile 4.0 (Spooky Soirée) redefines the battle royale experience. With its blend of ghostly aesthetics, supernatural mechanics, creative modes, and strategic depth—this update stands out as one of the most ambitious in the game’s history. Whether you're haunting Wraithmoor Mansion, dueling atop your Magic Broom, or unleashing cannon fire with your Mortar, every match offers new surprises and thrills.
